No upgrade files for 2.0.x to 2.1.x

with 12 comments

Just a quick note to tell you that I will not be providing upgrade files for the 2.0.7 to 2.1 upgrade. Too much has changed… it’d be a waste of time. Just download the official zip file. I will, however, continue to provide these upgrade files for future 2.0.x releases, for those who are saying on that branch.

  2. Will you be providing upgrade files for future 2.1x upgrades? I’ve found them *very* handy for these smaller upgrads, and have been meaning to thank you for them :-)

  3. [...] Mark Jaquith has announced that there will be no “upgrade files only” option for the upgrade from WordPress 2.0x to 2.1. There are too many changes to the database and files to create a fast and simple method. Do the full upgrade. [...]

  4. digitalramble, sure, I can do that. They seem to be a hit.

  10. Any chance of upgrade files for 2.1 to 2.1.1?

We are probably many that could do them ourselves, but yours are very handy :)

  11. I’ll do upgrade files from 2.1 &raqu; 2.1.1 and 2.0.7 » 2.0.9 tonight… probably by 2am EST.

2.0.8 was tagged, but not announced, so it’s likely that anyone who did that upgrade isn’t going to need incremental upgrade files, for 2.0.8 » 2.0.9

  12. What about upgrading directly from 2.0.5 to 2.2? We have several sites with 2.0.5 and need to upgrade them. What is the easiest way to do it?

Can we just copy wp-admin, wp-includes and the core files over the previous install? Thanks for your help!
