Subscribe to Comments 2.1 has been released! I know, I know, I was supposed to ship this in late December… but better late than never. People who are upgrading to WordPress 2.1 will want to upgrade to Subscribe to Comments 2.1 immediately, as there is an error message when using the 2.0.8 version of the plugin with WordPress 2.1
Here’s what’s new:
- One file install — finally, the legacy
wp-subscription-manager.phpfile is gone and its functionality has been merged into the plugin file. - See who is subscribing to your entries’ comments — I got probably 50+ requests for this functionality. Wish granted. Now you can see a list of your top subscribers and click through to see the full list. Click any subscriber to see the posts they’ve subscribed to.
- See which posts have the most subscriptions — which conversations are buzzing the loudest?
- Security fixes
- Misc bug fixes
This still works with WordPress 2.0.x, so it is a recommended upgrade for all users. Let me know how the upgrade goes! I had to finish this up pretty quickly, as the WordPress 2.1 error message forced my hand, so please let me know if you run into any issues.
Great! Just in time for my 30 days of WordPress Plugins.
Does this fix “fix” this fix?
“See who is subscribing to your entries’ comments” – Finally!
Thank you so much for this great plugin.
Thanks mark. I have been waiting for this for quite some time.
Cheers,
Sudar
Lorelle, yep!

What is the extras folder? And is the .pot file required?
Nevermind.. I jumped before I read.. Just read the readme.html..
Hi Mark,
This is the first time I’m writing to you. We use “Subscribe to Comments” plugin for 6 months and it worked perfectly since today. We were targetted another way of spam. Nice spammers use real people’s emails to comment then your plugin send those people emails about comments. And you may guest the rest. Anyway, my point is : Can you provide me some information how we can implement a confirmation email to the plugin? Or do you plan to take action about this in the next version?
supi,
I do indeed intend to fix this in the next version. Basically, you’ll be required to opt-in for your first subscription to the site.

Hi Mark,
I’ve been using your plugin from a month, but still do not understand how to know who subscribed to the comments …
well the other problem I have is that when someone subscribes to the comments the email that arrives has the raw html format, see this example:
Gustavo, qué alegría tenerte por aquí
The other thing is that I have your plugin translated into Spanish, but can not get this in Spanish.
I hope you can help me with this.
I’m using wp 3.0.1
Well, the example I wrote here is not shown as raw html,
Maybe you can make a comment on my blog and subscribe to the comment so you can see the result.
regards
so you can not help??????
